I prefer compact macs in the spring and the summer, but during these cold
and dark winter months I prefer Mac II**'s. In about 1 and half hour I'm
going to be the proud owner of Mac IIci. Must be a beast with system 6.
In Northern Europe during this time of the year the days are getting
shorter and the nights longer. To keep on feeling happy, I need a color crt
in front of me. Hence the use of a IIci.
When spring arrives, and the days get longer and warmer and flowers will
grow again, the plus or the se/30 will probably reappear on my desktop too.
But I generally I agree with you: the compacts are the one's that will last
because of their design. I do like the form factor of the IIci/quadra
700/IIcx too though. There is something special about those boxes,
especially in combination with a monitor from that time.

1. Compacts have nice and crisp screens, nice for word processing
2. Trustworthy: the less bloated the software, the less can go wrong.
3. I like old time games (don't wanna spend any time learning the new
one's, that are basically the same anyway accept for movies and graphics).
4. Nice form factors
etc. etc. etc.
