Subject: [6] Re: analog board & power supply compatibility classic/51 In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
ok, sad news but, what about the power supply? can i transplant it? i was offered a motherboardless and analogboardless SE today, can i use its analog instead of that of the 512? thanks pablo Sadly, the answer is again no (unless you are willing to spend much more time than it's worth). Briefly, you can share parts as follows: 128/512/512KE/Plus: Analog board/power supply, CRT, and deflection yoke are compatible SE and SE/30: Analog board, power supply, CRT, and deflection yoke are compatible. The CRT and yoke are also compatible with the above machines. Classic and Classic II: Analog board, power supply, CRT and yoke are compatible. The CRTs are also swappable with the machines above. The yokes are reportedly different enough from those of the above machines that you can't directly swap 'em, but I have not verified that myself. One small wrinkle: Some 9" CRTs orient the pins differently (they're in the same order, but are just rotated 180 degrees or so). This causes no electrical incompatibility, but can make it difficult or impossible to attach the connector (the wires aren't quite long enough to stretch the distance after you've rotated the connector). In that case, you have to cut wires and splice in some extensions. Ugly. Grab the SE carcass anyway. You might find a good use for it later. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . -- System6 is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> System 6 Heaven <http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/system_6_heaven.html> System6 info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/system6.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/system6%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
