Thanks for the full story, and the quote from the ReadMe! Very informative.

Yes, it's curious that Apple specified 6.0.8L for the Mac LC, since regular
6.0.8 already ran quite well.  One of those Apple Mysteries, I guess.  :-)

It would really be fun if someone could find a way to make 6.0.8L run on
other models of the same era, like my PowerBook 170.
