Try punching the IP address of the name server into MacTCP. You can get the IP address from the TCP/IP address from the TCP/IP control panel of your PB7500 when it is connected to the Internet.
This didn't work.
If you've already done that and it doesn't work, make sure you have MacTCP (or some System 6 compatible ping client) on the Portable -- so that you can test the connection -- and ask again.
I've got MacTCP 2.0.6 on the machine, but don't see a ping function on it. I'm trying to remember what a ping client for Sys6 might have been. Didn't the old Claris Works, or was it Apple Works, have a ping function? Can anybody point me to a Sys6 ping client?
