I did the same on my SE/30's internal 4.5GB drive, using 6.0.8, 7.1, 7.5.5,
7.6.1 and 8.1 (I have a IIsi ROM that allows me to run 7.6 and 8.1). But I
found my driver had issues with my Daystar Turbo 040 40MHz accelerator. So
I wiped the drive with a patched Apple HD SC formatter and all was well
again. This time though, I made 3 partitions, but I put all the System
Folders inside a 1GB partition (the boot partition), and all my other
software on the other two partitions. Using "System Picker" I can switch
among my System Folders. It works great.

Best,

James Wages
