These all are plans. Before we can ask other folks to adopt them we need to figure out based on one example whether this will work out in the end. So initially we'll focus on gdm, and when that worked we'd expect others to follow suit if they want. Note that things should stay compatible mostly with the current status quo, as you could run CK alongside the new scheme, and most of our new stuff can probably done from within PAM session hooks. In an ideal case that means the dms need no real patching.
