So, these are two issues: D-Bus is really confused: when it drops privs, it wants to keep the audit caps around. But if it didn't have those caps in the first place it gets confused: https://bugzilla.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49062 The second issue is that I broke the failure logic for socket units if their service units fail continously.
