We don't support search domains yet. It's on the TODO list however. We
currently use the domain information only for routing.

Hmm? I am not sure I understand the question. A fqdn is something that
you usually don't set, but that is simply assigned to you, and which you
can retrieve by reverse resolving your local interfaces. In this case,
each of your addresses on your interfaces might be assigned to a
different name.

Some people set the local system to an fqdn, but I wouldn't advise
that. You can change that with "hostnamectl".
