My operating system has privacy policy, it is linked from "About this computer" from the GUI: http://www.ubuntu.com/legal/terms-and-policies/privacy-policy Others have similar policies: http://www.redhat.com/en/about/privacy-policy It's not privacy policy of the operating system itself, but rather policy on any contact made with the (primary) vendor.
