Whassup with the Bible of the Sport? In darkwinger Dan's Portland report on page 35, John Godina is said to have fouled his first three attempts in the Shot, then improved enough in the final 3 rounds to take 4th. So what qualified John to get a full six throws? Should the stat guys count the mark as an 'exhibition performance'? What does the IAAF rulebook allow?
The answer should be obvious- on page 44 the picture caption says John wasn't even IN Portland! :) It's all in a days work- you don't even have to show up to get passed into the 4th round and even get credited with a 4th place :))) Even Adam Nelson could have done that sitting at home with a bad back!!
