Steve and David said it best! Cathy had to be under tremendous pressure to
light the Olympic torch to open the games, and then carry the hopes of every
Australian and win Gold in the 400M is a tremendous feat!

Just running the 400M and winning Gold is a feat in itself. She must have
felt tremendous pressure when getting into the blocks. I can still recall
the pressure of running a leg on my college 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays in
the championship meet, knowing that three other guys were counting on me to
go out and blow off the other teams so that we could win. I know it doesn't
come close to what Cathy must have felt!

Let her enjoy her retirement knowing that she accomplished more in her short
lifetime in track and field than 98% of the people of the world will ever be
able to accomplish.
