I applaud the superior quality of the Oslo broadcast compared to NBC's
OT coverage. For a starter, the camera locations in Oslo adhered to strict
guidelines for sports TV broadcasting. All the cameras pointed in the same
direction, so that runners went from right to left on the screen on the
back stretch, and left to right on the home stretch. This truly simulates
the view of a spectator in the stands. There is nothing more annoying that
having a dozen cameras around the track, so the runners are always
running in your face.

It is about time the NBC production crew went back to basics and took
production 101.
