He missed it by, well as Maxwell Smart would say, "he missed
it by THAT much!"...
... the A standard is 3:36.80.

It shows all the Sydney standards.

Apparently Lunn still has the Belgium meet coming up, then
he and Stember will go head-to-head at Zurich.
And Stember says he will continue to try wherever he can
find a race after Zurich, if need be, right up to midnight
September 11th (the deadline).

There's still the possibility of what might seem odd on
the surface:

If Lunn beats Stember 3:34 to 3:35, Stember is the one that
would get to go to Sydney. In fact if Lunn runs 3:29 tomorrow,
and Stember doesn't get the standard until September 11th, and
then runs exactly 3:36.80, Stember gets to go.

If only one of them makes the standard, that person goes.

If neither make the standard (as the situation currently
remains), Holman would go.

P.S.- Seeing today's result by Meb, anybody besides me
what-if'ying about a Sacramento 5K-10K double?
Kennedy might have some company when he comes back from
the injury.
For those keeping lists, add one more American with a
top U.S. time or distance for the year, who won't be
toeing the line in that event at Sydney.

I would venture a guess that somebody could form a team
of people who did NOT qualify in each event, and they
could give the people who DID qualify a run for their
money in a scored dual meet!
