He did not fight because it was hopeless cause, by the rules, and history of
the IAAF. It had nothing to do with guilt, innocence, or wife. Plain and
simple, it was a no win situation.
Let me give you something to think over. Caffeine is a banned substance, so
you will find a lot of athletes that drink tea. In some teas there is
ginseng, another banned substance, so the athlete is careful to order very
specific tea. The waiter make the wrong tea containing ginseng. By the
rules, and stance of the IAAF this is he athletes fault and responsibility.
When it is nothing more than a mistake by another person, and not a pattern
of ginseng intake.
Cases like these need to be expedited and dismissed when properly researched.
This policy of too bad is unfair, and detrimental to the true cause of the
rules. But I do not expect you to care, just as they do not.
