Yes that's right, access to exchange and lotus notes via the wap interface
or using t-mobile as a proxy if you're using your phone's email client

some access to

No, no additional ports are opened

Well kind of, because the t-mobile server then checks your corporate email
server periodicity. You can then setup alerts to be notified of emails bases
on whatever conditions you set.

If you go to the t-mobile site and login and click on my email you'll see
where to set this up. By doing this you can access your email via t-zones
under email. In addition for each account you setup here you can use
t-mobile as a proxy to your email. This is how you can access gmail since it
required SSL on a phone that doesn't support SSL (I do this), exchange, or
notes.

Here's a good step by step on how to do this using your phone's email client

No Blackberry is a push device. Corporate blackberry products have a
software package that's installed on your company's exchange server that
integrates and instant pushes all email sent to you to your blackberry. You
can customize this some and exclude and give priority to messages. Also when
you email from a corporate setup your email from the device or from your pc
appear the same to the user.

On the consumer side it checks your accounts as you specify and pushes those
messages to your device. When emailing from your device on the consumer side
you'll likely see the email as coming from your assigned blackberry email
address from t-mobile.

Thanks.
