As far as the Sidekick, I've had all incarnations of
the unit. The SK II was the last one that I used
before I left the SK side. Theres a few people in here
(Levi comes to mind) that were waiting for sync
functionality with Macs. Last time I checked someone
had tried The Missing Sync which works with the
Sidekick but Danger / TMo's greed have kept it from
coming...basically its dead. The fact that it has
remained a closed platform and the fact that they got
rid of the developer keys, therefore forcing you to
buy the crappy apps from the Catlog (well not all of
them) rather than giving you choice made me give up on
a good mobile device OS. There were some Applescripts
that allowed you to export info from Address Book and
iCal and put them in a file you can upload to the Web
based desktop.
Since then I jumped ship and got a BB7100 which has
very good sync ability with the Mac and iSync. The
Suretype keyboard takes only a little to get used to.
Other than that you can get the Motorola A630. It only
has a WAP browser, but you can add an HTML browser to
it and it syncs beautifully with the Mac - I have one!
