I would turn off automatic email delivery or at least only get the headers.
As an alternative you could take advantage of T-Mobile email alerts. You can
have T-Mobile send you a SMS for email you receive. Then if it's important
access it on your phone. Even if you used it a lot $.05 is a lot cheaper
than .10/kb

Does your bill show you your data usage? If not call CS and ask them, they
can access that data. That will give you a better idea of what to expect.

But FYI that last email you just sent was 17kb. That's $1.70 in Spain for
example. My guess is you use a lot more data than you think you do.

Thanks - this is great information. Looks like my week in Spain will be
somwhere around $20-25 for BB email - assuming my math gene is working today
- that's not too bad, although a couple trips to the Internet Cafe would
