If you call from a landline, you should not incur minutes when
checking voicemail.  Make sure the mobile phone is turned OFF when you
call it from a landline.

Also, wireless carriers recirculate mobile phone numbers.  I have
received a few wrong numbers/voicemails on mine, including one that
(according to the timestamp) was left BEFORE the line itself was
activated.
