June 7, 2006, about 930 pm Texas time I posted the post below on the Fastmail and Snappermail discussion boards today. I later searched and found this Yahoo! T-Mobile forum, so post the report.
In short, T-Mobile customer support reset my "location setting" today when my Treo 600 quit pulling emails and quit accessing the Internet. Some weeks ago, I had a similar problem of the Treo not functioning properly for no reason. I eventually called T-Mobile tech support and on that occasion the tech reset my account and it fixed the issue immediately, as happened earlier today. In both cases I think the techs were overseas. They were polite, understandable and got me fixed up. By the way, one time some weeks ago emails would not pull for some reason. I forget the details, etc., but realized that I had to untoggle my Fastmail setting from Disable mode thus enabling the service. That fixed that problem. How it got toggled to be disabled I do not know. June 7, 2006, about 11:40 am Texas time I post this to this Fastmail board since I use Fastmail and Snappermail on my Treo 600 pulls from Fastmail. NEWS FLASH: The problem below has been fixed. Before posting this I called T-Mobile support and the tech ended up "resetting my location." The device then began receiving web pages and would received emails. I figured I would post this anyway. I have a Treo 600, T-Mobile, ISP is MSN.com. I subscribe to Fastmail and my Snappermail software on the device pulls up to 40 emails when I click on Send/Receive. I receive and delete about 250 emails a day, give or take. At about 1 am June 7 the device performs an automatic total backup to a chip using BackupMan software. Early JUne 7 I scrolled and deleted about 300 emails. I then emptied the Snappermail Trash file on the device. I then routinely tried to receive my late June 6 and early June 7 emails. The device froze up saying 29 were being received, but it just held that screen. I tried soft reset on the device a few times. I also sent a test email from the device using Snappermail and the test transmitted okay. It seems to me that if it will "send" an email that the problem is not with my cell provider, T-Mobile. Also, when this is happening, the device is displaying all bars, the tower and the green lightening mark. A bit later it said there were 34 emails but it would freeze up and not pull the list. I have checked my Fastmail options and the Disabled box is NOT checked, so it appears to be running fine. Also, Fastmail on my desktop is receiving emails from the MSN ISP account. Also, I have Hotsynced my Treo 600 with my desktop and that did not fix the problem. Any tips? Thanks in advance. Robert in Austin, Texas ------------------------ Yahoo!
