T-Mobile's warranty would be more convenient since they'd send you  
the new phone (more than likely refurb'd) and provide a prepaid  
mailing label to send the defective unit back.  Unless stated  
differently they'll likely give you a year's warranty.

If you deal directly with Sony-Ericsson you'll be without a phone for  
the period where you are exchanging or waiting for your unit to be  
fixed.  Unless you have a spare to use while yours is being fixed  
that's a decided disadvantage.  Also, Sony-Ericsson may decide to  
give you a brand new phone and just replace it whereas T-Mobile will  
give you a refurbished unit.  Then again, Sony-Ericsson may do the same.
