I have spent days figuring this out so I'm going to post it for anyone who
cares. This concerns bluettoothing an MP3 to a phone to use as a ringtone - in
particular the Samsung T509 but it may prove useful to other people. The sound
quality is excellent compared to converting to mmf.
1. Trim your MP3
2. Use Quicktime Pro and export as 3gp - save in my bluetooth places folder
3. On your phone go to bluetooth then my devices and browse and get file
4. It WILL put the 3gp in your sound folder and you WILL be able to set as
ringtone
For more details on the Quicktime settings go to this link -
http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic46498.html it's a long thread so you might
want to start from page 10 and work back. Toolman43 is the one with the best
solution. My mistakes (I think) were in Quicktime I did not check "open as
read only" - and on my computer I did not see the screen to allow the phone to
connect to the computer or something. Now all I have to do is figure out the
Nokia 6010 and 6030 next with a cable although the website says it does not
support Mp3s. DonnaB
