Keep in mind that the recent modern "system 40" Nokia phones you can  
use the rocker keys [at the side of the center selection button] (up,  
down, right, and left) and make those immediately bring up a phone  
function.  I have up rocker for alarm, down rocker for calendar, right  
rocker to compose text messages and left rocker to open my messages  
inbox.  The right soft key can be dedicated to a function and the left  
soft key accesses lots of stuff (you can choose which ones show up.)
