Contracts are not compound meaning agreeing to a 2yrs then a 1yr doesn't
make 3, its only the great of the two contact lengths, in this case 2 yrs.

Upgrading a phone can be 1 or 2 yrs but you have to ask for the 1 yr and the
discount isn't as great. The CSR will probably tell you a 1yr isn't
available but it is if you push the issue. Changing your rate plan only
requires a contract renewal if the rate plan is a promo plan. Promo plans
are those that are special discounted plans, those that include N/W or
MyFavs. The non-promo plans aren't published: you must ask for them.

If you're going to change plans and it requires a contract renewal you might
as well take the upgrade or plan on taking the upgrade during your contact
term. Whenever you upgrade the contract will reset on that date. Meaning if
you change rate plans today which extends your contract to Nov 26, 2009 and
then on Dec 26, 2008 you upgrade which is 1 yr then your contract ends on
dec 26, 2009.

I have a 2,000 minute family plan but want to reduce it to a 1,000 minutes
family plan. 2 phones are out of contract but 1 phone is not out of contract
till next year. Anyhow I was told if I change the minutes all 3 phones will
have a one year contract extention. I was also told something like I should
upgrade my phones before I do this. I am totally confused now in spite of
asking the guy a couple times to explain why. If I upgrade the phones I
thought that required a 2 year extention which I don't want to commit to
plus then if I reduce the plan would that add yet another year of contract?
Could some kind soul explain this to me? Also does anyone know if I changed
it would I lose my $9.99 unlimited text price? DonnaB
