I just checked my laptop working copy and I do not have local modifications in this area. I only have experiemented with adding gtk+ or whether to use E17 based stuff (I fear I can not get comfortable with either). Anyway these fonts should be in: font-alias font-misc-misc font-cursor-misc I think the fixes fonts are in the font-misc-misc and font-alias has a fixed -> something alias IIRC. When you log in at the livecd prompt, do you have fonts in /usr/X11/share/fonts?
