Yeah, that's documented on the @live homepage.

Sorry, we changed this because when the livecd code injects this it this
feature conflicts with target that either have no sudo at all (thus error on
build) or are for professional use and thus this is not wanted.

When one selects livecd as output image this now (in trunk for some
months now) "just" meants the resulting binaries are setup to be a live cd.
Not that all kind of usability defaults get injected. So the target can define
what stuff is wanted.

The desktop target does this, e.g. preconfigurs sudo and kde. But not
the generic target. Generic target means: generic up-stream GNU/Linux
setup as possible.

You can now go on and alter this to all your needs.

Hm, interesting. Need to take a look.

The programs are in sbin dirs and thus not in the PATH of non-root users.
Even if they would have been or you call then with /sbin/halt you would
get a permission denied.

Your proceeding now depends on what you want: get your own livecd,
then go inject all the stuff you need into target/generic/rootfs and rerun
Build-Target ; Build-ISO.

Or if you want "the" T2 @Live CD/DVD/Stick build the desktop target which
contains the preconfiguration you might have read about on the homepage
or the announcements.

T2 is exactly about this kind of base technology and build system while
allowing all sorts of customizing for uniqe "products".

Yours,
