Hi,
The first thing I noticed about a month ago, is that there are some
duplicate menu items showing up in the "expert & expanded options" section.
"Selecting C library" shows up twice. Also the GlibC sub menu under that
appears twice. It is a minor cosmetic annoyance, the configuration
still seems to generate OK.
The second thing is concerning a default setting for the
"generic->minimal" target.
I am testing out a "generic-> minimal" build using the Mips64 generic
arch , because I am seeing major weirdness on my mips64 builds using
my custom built target, and I want to see if any kind of glibc based
build can be done on the mips64 trunk, so I figure that the
generic->minimal should be the best bet to succeed.
Anyway, when I set up the configuration, but did not specifically go
into the "Selecting C library" section and specify TLS/NPTL, it defaults
these to "No", which causes glibc stage0 to fail because it's looking
for the old linuxthreads, which is not there:
checking build system type... i686-nocross-linux-gnu
checking host system type... mips64-t2-linux-gnu
configure: error: add-on directory "linuxthreads" does not exist
Due to previous errors, no 0-glibc.log file!
(Try enabling xtrace in the config to track an error inside the build
system.)
--- BUILD ERROR ---
If an Architecture supports NPTL (I think all of them do at this point)
then NPTL should default to "On"
Thanks
Jan
