The t2 system is complicated. Running on Kubuntu, you are using Kubuntu
utilities to build t2-8.0. Once you find how to comment out the problem
below, there may well be yet another problem, and another.

You are then essentially debugging the interaction between the Kubuntu
utilities and the t2-8.0 source code. This can be the hard way to do the
job.

If you go to http://www.t2-project.org/download

and look at the first sentence:

"You can use T2 either to build an entire system from source, or get
pre-built installble or live binary images:"

It is easier to download an installable image and install it on your
Kubuntu hardware (this wipes out your Kubuntu system.. caution here) and
then use the installed t2-8.0 to build a new t2-8.0 system from source
code. It seems a little bit roundabout, but once you can build the
t2-8.0 system this way, then you can build more up to date t2 systems
with less fear that you will run into problems.

An alternative way is to set up a virtual system within Kubuntu (I don't
know if Kubuntu supports virtual systems? Fedora 13 does.. You also need
hardware support in your CPU for running a virtual system)

With a virtual system, you can load the installable t2-8.0 image into
your virtual system and proceed to build t2-8.0 within that virtual
shell. This avoids having to wipe your Kubuntu system entirely.

Another alternative way is to use a live binary image as mentioned in

http://www.t2-project.org/documentation/installintro.html

I have not done this and can't advise you further than the
documentation.

Hope this helps
