The debug symbols are controlled by the SDECFG_DEBUG config option: e.g. off,
embedded, and external.
If you see -g in the package .log this does not matter, as regardless what make
prints from the Makefile, our compiler wrapper will automatically remove -g and
such in accordance with said config option.
