I have noticed this, but have not had much time to look in to it. I'm glad to hear that
I'm not the only one stuck on this.
It seems like cdrom_id comes from the "extras" directory, but we are building udev without
the extras option.
I tried removing the --without-extras, but then it wanted the c++ libs, which were not
built yet in stage 1, so I stopped at that point. BTW, my build was a cross build for mips64.
