Compiling the latest t2, downloaded yesterday.

gcc installs this file:

gcc: usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.17-gdb.py

I encountered this problem at stage 3. ncurses compiled but install failed:

/sbin/ldconfig: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.17-gdb.py is not an ELF file
- it has the wrong magic bytes at the start.

So, what is the best way to fix this? Modify gcc.conf to delete that
file? But why does it get put there in the first place?

Regards,
Barry Kauler

P.S.
Just before I posted this, I realised that the failure was actually
due to another reason. perhaps the above was just a warning.
But anyway, in principle, is is alright for a *.py file to be in /usr/lib?
