I'll leave it up to you guys in charge as what to do about it longrun.

In my case for now, I think i'll just add attr to my buildset until
further guidance is given.

This means I then have the basis and can start working out what to
add/subtract to add Wayland and Weston into T2's Packageset and a new
Puppy for :-) BarryK's tribe (?name please barry).

Patches for those packages, please ;-)!

You'll get them when i've got that far Rene, I promise!

I'm devoting the next few years spare time to this, so it's not being
run as a short project. I'm rather taken with what Wayland can do and
want to Puppy It!

One of the other Wayland builders (rebeccablackos, it's on sourceforge)
has been at it since 2011! And she is yet to finish her first list, let
alone users requests. But she is getting there!

But first i've got to get a suitable and STABLE 9.0 target dataset (with
a ??-modified-puppy + ??-wayland + ??-weston) to work with, and I
haven't half that yet. Which is why i'm bugging poor barryk a lot at
present, and no doubt will bug you and your team to tears, as I get that
far along!

Then there will need to be some Kernel changes, and for your kernel
builds I will have to leave for you, I can only feed you what needs
changing, as we have a different way of dealing with the kernel in a
puppy world, sorry.

Then, theoretically, you can have under F1 - An x-org Server, F2 -
Wayland server, F3 - WaylandX Server, F8 - pure x-org workstation, F7 -
Weston (wayland) workstation, F6 x-org (WaylandX) Workstation, etc. As
long as you have the ram and it's running 64bit, under 32bit, as I
understand it, you can only have one of each at present, but a Wayland
server, application Server, user's (weston or another suitable) display
(graphic) workstation and data server don't have to be the same machine.
Sounds like an International Cloud System, doesn't it!

For the moment, i'm sticking to 32bit, but will move to add 64bit
when i'm happy with its stability.

Thanks to all
jon

Oh, no thanks, at this stage it's best left to one person, I have a Project Flowchart of what I need / want to do in what order, and what way for the first year. Adding people at this point will just complicate it, sorry.

When I've got to the stage of splitting a stable Puppy-fied version off, I will be leaving it up to your builder teams how they treat what I have provided and continue to provide. At that point, others may be of use in creating the various wayland-active desktops, there are a few of them across the platforms as well as a number of existing desktops can be waylanded.

regards
jon
