Hi,
by mistake i sent the following to scsijon in private: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- scsijon wrote: > Is isohybrid worth adding to T2, I admit I think so? http://t2sde.org/packages/syslinux lists both variations of the isohybrid program as "Installed files": usr/bin/isohybrid usr/bin/isohybrid.pl Only the former is capable of adding an EFI System Partition image. The .pl script is older and cares only for the BIOS MBR code and a simple partition table. It has to be stressed that the T2 installation ISOs are not suitable for the SYSLINUX isohybrid programs, because those ISOs have a GRUB EL Torito boot image for BIOS booting. The isohybrid MBR would not work with that boot image, but does officially only with the SYSLINUX ISOLINUX image of the same SYSLINUX version as the isohybrid program. (In practice the versions stayed compatible since years.) With the recent ISOs like t2-minimal-musl-x86-64-r47636.iso, it is not necessary to postprocess them in order to make them bootable from USB stick. They have a GRUB MBR for BIOS. It will be necessary to set the firmware to BIOS legacy mode, because there is no EFI System Partition currently. Have a nice day :) Thomas ----------------------------------------------------------- If you wish to unsubscribe from this mailing, send mail to [email protected] with a subject of: unsubscribe t2
