Agreed but as there are vunerability CVE/SVE's problems warnings
starting to appear in some of these packages I thought I should bring it
to the groups attention. I know how hard it can be to let go some
packages we've used for almost forever. I was using an old one until a
problem surfaced and the developer asked me why i was using the old
prerequisite instead of the current, i'd just not seen a note on the
replacement.

thanks for the note, as long as it is updated and is reasonably useful there is
no problem providing it,
especially as it is likely used by other packages. We carry much more abandon
obsolete war
