Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques

Hello to the list.

I have a small puzzlement. A friend recently sent me photographs of the two
reconstructions that were done for the British Museum of the earliest
confirmable brocaded TW bands, the 7th-century Taplow bands. They are on
public display at the museum, and the last time I was there, having joyfully
discovered their location, I was puzzled by what I saw. Apparently, and this
is the reason for this message as I would like others to tell me I am not
losing my mind, the reproductions are incorrect; it appears that the brocade
weft is on the surface over the tie-downs and runs under or through the band
where it should be on the surface.

If we used the photos solely for study purposes, could they be added to the
Weaver's Hand web site for awhile, do you suppose?
