I got all jazzed yesterday when I saw this 'cuz I actually use stretcher
frames for teaching tapestry and sprang, but had never thought of using
them for cards. So I set right to work (thus totally avoiding untrimming
my tree for another day...). But not being content with the usual TW, I
decided it was time to try Colin's sewing thread warp. Two new ideas at
once do *not* make for a smooth project. ;- l

I must say I was disappointed with the stretcher frame idea. I simply
couldn't keep my tension consistent and I *really* don't like warping on
one thing and transfering to another. I spent half my time untangling and
retensioning.

When I finally gave up in late afternoon and transfered the whole mess to
my inkle loom of choice, I was finally able to keep my tension consistent,
and then the TWeaving went like a breeze! I *love* sewing thead warp!
It's great!

36 cards warped in 2 colors S and Z for double weave pick-up of barely 3/8"
wide. So delicate and detailed. I don't think I'll ever want to go back
to anything thicker! Thanx, Colin. 8-]

So I'm sorry to report no-joy with the stretcher frame (if I can conquer
that tension problem, I may try it again). I'm really happy with the
TWinkle loom.
