Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques

Judy,

Your trip sounds wonderful.... I have been collecting information about
tablet weaving in Asia, and have found very little. Of the countries you
are planning to visit, I have only found one reference so far. In "The
Techniques of Tablet Weaving", Fig. 116 shows idling tablets used in a
two-color pattern on a contemporary Laotian band made in 2-strand warp twining.

But, if you were able to travel just a little further, to Burma or
Indonesia, there is more documentation about the history of TW in both of
these countries. I would love to know if anyone is still doing TW there today.

Will look forward to hearing about your adventures, and I hope you find
some TW!

Linda
