I have a piece of a 10 dent reed with the bottom off of it.  It works well
for combing out ward and tangles.  [just spent 12 hours last week warping my
floor loom because some one had been "helpful" and moved my chained warp.
Oh the tangled warp we weave.]

I also use ridged heddle reeds to keep my TW warp separated on my TW loom.
