Craig, thanks for your kind words.  It has all evolved slowly and 
naturally.  When I first started teaching, many students asked me where to 
get supplies.  One student was using an old a set of tablets with Mary 
Atwater's name on them. I presume she herself must have arranged to have 
them made, and I thought, "What a good idea!"  So I did some research and 
found a place locally that would make them for me.

I wanted a shuttle of a certain size and thickness, and my husband said he 
could probably make one, and that was the beginning of the rosewood 
shuttles (as well as other beautiful ones he has made for me in ebony and 
snakewood).  He discovered that he liked woodworking.  Soon we started 
designing and making other helpful tools.   A few years ago, my friend Lynn 
Adams helped me learn html and create my web site, and Janis has been a 
great source of help and advice.  I just got a digital camera, so am 
working to get photos of everything to put on the web... another slow 
process!

I always enjoy the discussions and ideas on this list about tools and 
equipment.
