Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques Hello, I'm a new member, cross posting from Ron's Fibernet list. I have a couple of questions, and I hoped you folks would be better able to answer them than the Fibernet list, as they concern tablet weaving. Question number 1: on the cover of the latest Handwoven, there is a beautiful bag with bead fringe, bands, etc. The band around the top was woven with Peruvian pick-up, but it looks to me like it could be woven with tablets. The design is called "Kutij", a lovely little sideways S design, and she gives instructions on how to weave it in an issue of Weaver's Spring 1998. Does anyone have access to the Weaver's issue, and can anyone help me figure out how to make it with tablets, probably in double weave. Question number 2: Well, it's actually more like a statement. I'm interested in finding charts for any designs from Turkey/Persia/Central Asia, primarily long repeating designs suitable for long bands. I do have Candace Crockett's book, with it's wonderful ram's horn design. I also have Linda Hendrickson's Double Weave book, and Robin and Russ's book on tablet weaving. If there are any other designs out there, let me know. I'm just beginning in tablet weaving, and don't feel comfortable yet trying to chart motifs myself. I have a rather lengthy project in mind, using very long tablet woven bands, and would like some rather authentic looking designs for it. Thanks for your help! ===== Diane Pinkers, DVM Raymond WA __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
