Yesterday Otfried Staudigel sent me his wonderful new book, "Tablet
Weave Magic", a 250-page softback almost exclusively devoted to double-
face motifs he has analysed from Middle Eastern and Burmese originals
and photos, then woven replicas (nearly 90, all in silk) of everyone
himself, then made a working diagram of each for the reader to follow...
a daunting piece of research plus craftsmanship. Practically every one
has not been previously published. It is bilingual, in German and
English.
I am not giving more details as the problems of distribution are being
currently worked out. All I know is that it costs DM 80 in Germany. So
the price will be the equivalent of that plus postage.
