Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques
Hi all,
I learned to weave a double-faced 3/1 broken twill this weekend. I
compared my (first) results with the chapter in Peter Collingwood's
book. He speaks of two angles in the structure, one about 45 deg., the
other about 60 deg. In my first weaving the angles are steeper, the
steeper one is about 80 deg., the other one about 60 deg.
Now I have got a problem to understand, are the angles depending on
weaving and material or am I looking for the right "60 deg. angle" but
cannot find the 45 deg. angle? If you wish to have a look on my result
try http://www.steinmaus.de/Mittelalter/weben/pub/koeper_richtung.jpg.
Thanks for any explanations.
Guido
