Please do not over react to a seasonally slow mail time and a peculiarity with AOL. The last plain old message to go to tabletweaving was on the 14th of December from Eckhard Gartz. A later one (12-17) from Nancy ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) explained that a message she had sent was automatically rejected, because it contained a huge HTML file. HTML files are not allowed, because the make a mess of the digest. That is the policy of all mailing lists that I am aware of. There has been no other mail. You have missed nothing. The 'common point' is not AOL. There are lots of other problems that you never see. AOL is just particularly ornery. That is true for many mailing lists - not just fiber-related ones. I hear the same stories from dozens of list moms. As far as another provider for for tabletweaving, the one we have now costs nothing. Any other will have some cost. You currently see no advertisements or the like. A "free" provider will enlighten you with ads. I take care of TW list out of the goodness of my heart, so it is nothing to me one way or another. It is up to you people to decide what you prefer. I can investigate getting an ad-free service to handle the list, but it will entail some costs. I think that is something for your board to decide. I take no stand one way or the other. I will say that there are no problems with any other "ISPs" except AOL and the now infamous @home bunch. Ron who just tries to keep problems invisible, but real life rears its head now and then. The names AOL and @home come to mind.
