Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques

Linda Hendrickson will be teaching double-faced tablet weaving at Springwater Fiber Workshop in Alexandria, Virginia, Saturday & Sunday, April 5 & 6. For an added attraction, the National Park Service is now saying that Washington's beautiful cherry blossoms will be at their height on April 5.

The workshop is called "Weaving Peace: Creating Words in Card Weaving." We will be working in Linda's adaptation of the Gil Sans typeface that Peter Collingwood graphed in his book. You may choose from a number of words that Linda has already graphed out, or you may weave one of her pangrams: Quickly fix the rusted zipper on my woven jute bag.

We also hope Linda's new book, "Please Weave a Message," will be available for purchase at the workshop.

Springwater Fiber Workshop is a nonprofit fiber arts school. For more info on Springwater and/or this workshop, go to www.springwaterfiber.org. Click on "Classes" and then scroll down to "Springwater Weaving." A registration form can also be download from the website (online registration is not available--the form must be downloaded & mailed in).

I hope to see some of you there. I have been playing a bit with words in DFTW, and it's a blast!
