Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques Morning!
The latest GTT version, 1.16, can now be uploaded from http://www.guntram.co.za/tabletweaving/. Shockingly, it has been a year since the previous version release... I hope the wait has been worth it. :) My mirror site at http://www.farreaches.org/staendebuch/tabletweaving hasn't been updated yet since I've got a problem with the upload, but no doubt that will sort itself out. As always, comments, requests, and bug reports are welcome. I may not have time to implement everything, but I do keep track of all requests, because who knows, some day I might win the lottery and have too much time on my hands... Cheers, Eckhard/Guntram. V1.16 Updates: - Extended the brocade designer to handle up to five brocade wefts in one pattern. - Added option in the Settings (on the General tab) for setting the width of the grid highlight lines. - Added ground weave options to the brocade designer. The toolbar has a new button next to the 'Import Bitmap' button; click this to choose the ground weave pattern. The ground weave can be doubleface (2 or 3 colour), twill, threaded-in, or a twist-patterned design. The ground weave can be edited and re-imported into the brocade pattern with affecting the brocade layout. - Added option to the main menu for tiling design windows either vertically or horizontally. - Added side-by-side join for twist-patterned designs, which unaccountably hadn't been available yet. - Added option for joining patterns end to end. Only patterns of the same kind can be joined this way. If the patterns are of different widths, the broadest width is used and other patterns are centered. The card setup of the widest pattern will be used. Brocade patterns with a ground weave can be joined, but the ground weave will be discarded. - Moved the Join and Convert options from the Create to the Edit menu. - Added a panel below the tool buttons which displays the name and file of the current pattern. - Updated the bitmap import functionality for twill patterns. When a bitmap is imported GTT now reads each pixel as one pick, rather than as one block of two picks. This makes it much simpler to create twill patterns in an image editor and import them into GTT. Note that the bitmap orientation is expected to be vertical, ie each horizontal line of the bitmap equals one pick. If the pattern in GTT appears garbled, with each second line displaced by one block, use the 'Realign Pattern' function to clean up the design. - Added menu items for the functions, in case the tool buttons confuse you. - Added an option to the 'Convert' and 'Join' forms so that the new pattern can be opened automatically after conversion is complete, without having to save it to a file.
