I spotted in Bonham's latest auction catalogue that a 15th century Book of Hours was up for sale; a small highly illuminated book on vellum. The page from it shown in this catalogue shows the Virgin Mary seated behind some horizontal threads, stretched between two upright posts (each guarded by an angel!). Her hands are on these threads but there is no suggestion of tablets on this "warp". However the pose is very reminiscent of those few representations from that time which do show tablet weaving. The book is up for sale in November when it will probably disappear into a museum or private collection. I have scanned the relevant part. I could send it as an email jpeg to those interested. Or maybe when Janis has successfully moved into new house it could go on the Weavers Hand site. O but that would involve copyright, I guess.
