A wonderful book in this context is "Double-Woven Treasures from Old Peru" by Adele Cahlander with Suzanne Baizerman It shows examples and explains various techniques like plain-weave double cloth, warp-float weaves, double-woven complementary-warp weaves. My favorite being the two-faced triple cloth! It is nice to read about it and admire the complexity that those weavers mastered without having written directions.
