Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques
I have just been reading the "Tablet weaving" entry in Wikipedia, the free web-based encyclopedia which anyone can edit. I don't yet know how to edit Wikipedia entries, but this one does need substantial tweaking. There are a number of errors, including reference to bobbins, and claiming that tablets with more holes are used to create more complex patterns. Also some interesting claims which I rather doubt, such as the use of tablets with 16 holes, and also using tablets to weave gloves and pants.
The Washington Post this week has been full of articles about how the staffs of members of Congress go into Wikipedia to beef up the bios of their bosses. At this point, I wouldn't believe anything I read on Wikipedia. They TW entry is just another example.
