Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques
Those of you who are members of Complex Weavers have by now probably received your October Journal (mine just came today, but most people received theirs several weeks ago) and will thus already have the Seminars registration packet in hand. If you're not (yet) a member of CW, I'd like to remind you that Peter Collingwood, on one of his rare trips to the US side of the Pond, will be our keynote speaker and scholar in residence. For the Scholar-in-Residence program, we expect to have several (perhaps as many as 4) small-group, informal sessions with Peter. These may be focused each on a single topic or may range widely across the many topics that Peter is interested in (it's all still under discussion and pretty much up to Peter how he wants us to handle it).
If' you're either not a CW member or (like me) you have a lazy Post Office so you haven't gotten your registration packet yet, you can download everything from the CW website. Go to http://www.complex-weavers.org/seminar.htm and click on 08info.pdf for the registration packet and 08regfrm.pdf for the registration form. The registration form can be filled out in your Acrobat Reader program, but you still have to print it out & mail it in. CW does not yet have online registration. However, filling out the form at your computer may save you time and certainly saves the registrar's eyes (trying to read all those different handwritings).
CW is a very small conference. There are 150 slots. Period. That's it. Of those 150 slots, 21 will be taken up by teachers and another 7 or 8 or so by the conference committee itself. You do the math. So if you want to attend & want to get your first choice of seminars (there are some very interesting TW topics being presented), you'll want to get your registration in at the beginning of the process. Registration opens Jan. 2. All registrations received prior to Jan. 2 will be deemed to have arrived on Jan. 2.
For more info about the conference, check the website and the registration packet. There are seminar write-ups and teacher bios for all the sessions in the registration packet.
