Good sorces of cheap plastic are disposable cutting boards or plastic bottle sides. Be aware that the bent areas of a plastic bottle will ever straighten out, even if you iron it. (voice of experience). For punching holes in plastics, a leather hole punch works much better than a standard hole punch which will bend handles after a while. You can get a leather hole punch from most big box craft stores, and sometimes places like walmart or harbor frieght.
