Congratulations, Michael! Though I'm betting you're now wishing you'd put an
even higher price on your necklace now. It truly is a treasure and there's
no way you will be recompensed for the immense amount of work you put into
it. You just have to survive on your personal satisfaction. ;)

In a similar case, I had a complex necklace in kumihimo and beadwork that
had been displayed at Convergence 2002 here in Vancouver. It was
subsequently requested for a gallery show and I marked it NFS but a customer
begged to buy it anyway. I put a very high price (I thought) on it but she
accepted it. The drawback was that I forgot about the gallery's commission
since I rarely sell my work so I didn't get nearly what I was expecting! Oh
well. It likely would have spent most of it's time in a jewelry case anyhow.
My only regret is that I didn't record its creation as well as I should
have. (A valuable lesson and I've been much more careful since then.) At
least you have lots of photos and details to remember yours by!

Hugs,
Louisa
